A New Car For Me....Yipee!!!

That's right friends the Plymouth Breeze has died! You can mourn its loss if you want too, but after dying at the beginning of July and driving Jason's truck when I could, I was more than happy when we finally made a decision on a new car for me. If I drive this car as long as I drove the Breeze I can get a new car when Xander is 10 and 1/2 .Anyways, after test driving different cars, MANY dealerships later, and me not really wanting a mini-van we finally decided on a 2009 Chevy Traverse. Then Jason went on a hunt for the best deal. He is crazy when it comes to searching for the best deal, he takes it as personal challenge. So here is my new car....
It has dark gray leather interior and it has a ton of great features (Which makes me laugh because my old car had just a tape deck...anyone have any good tapes?). I am still so nervous driving the car though I am afraid to change the radio station while moving, so who knows when I will figure out what all the other buttons do. We also got the bucket seats in the second row, which I really like because it allows easy access to the third row. Oh and my most favorite feature so far is the power lift gate. I can open and close the back with a push of a button (a very nice feature for the vertically challenged). Here are some pictures of Xander and I trying to keep busy while the last of the paperwork was finished up.

Hay Baling

Jason's parents planted 6 acres of orchard grass to feed their alpacas. Jason took a night off from working on the house to help with the baling. Xander and I decided to help too. (I am so farmy :)) We drove the truck behind the baler while the others picked up the bales.

Dayton Dragons Family Day

On Saturday Xander and I, along with Mary and Brinley and Emily and Jack, headed down to the Dayton Dragon's Fifth Third Field for family day. There were all sorts of games and inflatables set up around the field. The kids could also meet the players and run the bases.

Free Dragon's Hat
Going Through the Obstacle Course
Using the Corn Hole as a Slide Playing Games
Bouncing in the Little Bounce House

Is that a Dayton Dragon's Player?

Waiting for the Large Slide

I climbed up the large slide with one kid and came down with two. When I got up there she was just sitting there and I asked her if she needed some help. She said in the cutest little voice, "The slide is awfully big." Then I realized her mom and dad were calling her name from down below. Anyways, she end up coming down with Xander and I and from the look on her face she ended up loving it. Xander liked it too. We went twice. He kept pointing to it saying, "down, down".
A Great Morning

The House

The question we get asked the most is, "How is the house coming?" My standard response is, "It's coming." It is still a work in progress. Right now we are in the midst of inspections before dry wall: electric, HVAC, framing.... We are doing pretty well. This is a big relief to Jason since these are all things that he has done (not the framing though). While Jason is working inside, we hired someone to do the siding outside. Here are a few pictures of the siding and window trim.
We are putting stone on the garage and under the front porch and shake shingles on the peak with the window over the garage and the second peak on the second story. The shingles will be the same color as the siding. The house and windows will be trimmed in white.
